Each of the 120 bottles in Edition I features a work by Sonya Derviz, screen-printed onto translucent mesh and sewn into an eight-piece, freestanding, stackable form. Adapted from a drawing that also appears on the label and neck cutter, the textile piece wraps around the bottle, echoing its contours without being permanently affixed. Gently layered and open to reconfiguration, the work invites touch, movement, and personal arrangement. A quiet encounter between material and memory, it brings English terroir into dialogue with contemporary visual practice.
As for the wine, Hundred Hills' First Edition 2018 is the result of an early budburst, peak flowering on 20 June, and an excellent ripening season combined to yield a perfect harvest in mid October. The wine was created from Hundred Hills' south-east facing Pinot Noir parcels and south facing Amphitheatre Chardonnay each with over 100 days on the vine. The base wines were created without a malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness and purity, fermented and aged in a combination of traditional oak casks for Chardonnays and stainless steel for Pinot Noirs, each undergoing battonage. The wine was bottled and spent over 48 months aging on lees before disgorgement.
